Inside the walls

What's actually going on in there.

Keep scrolling. The house draws itself, then lights up one system at a time.

  1. Where the water comes in

One line from the street feeds the whole house. The main shutoff sits right where it enters. Know where yours is: it stops a burst pipe in seconds.

  2. The water heater

Tank or tankless, gas or electric. No hot water, rusty water or a puddle underneath means it is time to call. Most repairs are same day; replacements are often done in one visit.

  3. Supply lines: copper or PEX

Blue is cold, red is hot. Older homes run copper or galvanized steel that pinholes with age; a repipe in PEX is quieter, cleaner and resists freezing. We do both.

  4. Drains and the stack

Every sink, tub and toilet feeds one stack. Grease, hair and roots are the usual clogs. Snaking clears today's problem; hydro jetting scours the pipe clean.

  5. The sewer line to the street

Your line runs under the yard to the city main. Tree roots, offsets and collapses show up on camera first. We dig and replace only what the camera proves is broken.

  6. The sump pump

Groundwater collects in a pit under the basement floor; the pump sends it outside. A battery backup keeps it running when a storm takes the power out.
